"Now and then, though someone does begin to grow differently. Instead of down, his feet grow up toward the sky. But we do our best to discourage awkward things like that."
"What happens to them?" Insisted Milo.
"Oddly enough, they often grow ten times the size of everyone else," said Alec thoughtfully, "And I've heard that they walk among the stars."

#28

Tonight Giants scored 4 runs in the ninth inning to tie up with the Marlins and put the game into extra innings. But what could have been an awesome rally turned Sour. Giants fan might wish that we had just lost the game early instead of go into extra innings. When Scott Cousins barrled into Buster Posey, pushing him over. Posey was down on the ground for a few moments before having to be helped off the field with what looked like a very painful leg/foot injury.

Posey is one of the best catcher in the leagues and I hope its nothing to serious. It seems like the Giants have been cursed with injuries this season and while we already have a few key players on the Disabled List it would be a tremondous lost for us to lose one of our shining stars Buster Posey.

....

This is really terrible and I hope he is okay...

5/25

On this day in history in 1977 Star Wars Opened to great commercial success. Also Babe Ruth hit his last homerun in 1935, it was his 714 homerun a record for career home runs that would stand for almost 40 years. Its pretty cool to look back and see what happened so long ago, today I'm not doing much but thats okay I'm happy just to spend most my day with Tom when he gets home.

Today its weird weather I woke up because it was rainy and coming down really hard, and then we had about an hour of sun followed by really strong winds.

I love living in the bay area and I am so super excited to get to the beach when the weather heats up.

For Tommy:

So in love are we to, that we dont know what to do...

Because We Lost.

Giants lost tonight it ended what was a nine game winning streak kinda sorta a lot bummed out about it so I wanted to put some up a song that I love.

Sunday Morning-Velvet Underground.

Love,
Melanie.

5/24

Today was a much looked forward to day with Tom, and while I had a difficult time waking up this morning he went out and got me a delicious Bagel from Noah's.

We went to watch the movie Bridesmaids today, it was actually pretty funny albeit a bit predicatable. The acting was solid and there were more than a couple of scenes where I laughed aloud. Tommy and I both rated it a 7/10.

After the movies we headed out to Castro Valley, To vist Crush a decent sized Comic bookstore:

This place is actually pretty cool, although its no Flying Colors which is my favorite comic book store. Crush  does have a pretty huge back issue collection and the comics are not very expensive.
Tom managed to pick up a couple of things he like. Sadly I didn't see anything I really wanted. although to be fair I have about five books coming from Amazon so I wasn't really looking. :)

We came back to Walnut Creek and spent some of the afternoon playing on Tom's X-Box we played Mortal Kombat which was fun after I got on Tom's team. He is too good to play against so I like when we can play together. After that we played a ninja turtles game (MY TOES! MY TOES!!) I was Donotello because he was supposed to be the intelligent one.

Funny/weird thing happened when we stopped in at safeway. A older guy came up to us and said to Tom: "Oh your Charlie right?" and Tom was like "Uhh no sorry..." and the guys replied "Oh, well then what are you doing with one of Charlie's Angels??" (Meaning me) ...BAHAHAHAHA....funny yet awkward.

And always a song to brighten your day:

Anyways... I will see you there or I will see you on another time.

PEACE

5/23

Today I went to Leftovers Thrift shop a small little shop off of Mt.Diablo Blvd. in Walnut Creek.

I love going to Thrift shops with Tommy on our days off together, I mostly go for the books, I mean when your getting paperbacks for $0.25-$0.50 it a great buy especially if you find something rare or nostalgic or something that would cost you $6.50 at half price and 12.99 at Barnes and Nobles.

and now heres something I hope you really enjoy:

Heres hoping to a great week...

P.S. If you think this is Rivers Cuomo I'm going to smack you in the face!
PEACE!!

5/22

Today I got to hang out with Toms family, it was fun to have a relaxing day and just hang out with Tommy and I look forward to his days off with me this week.

Also I have developed a new weird habit, at Walgreens the other day I bought a bottle of nail polish that claimed to smell like mangoes when dried on the nails. I was pretty Skeptical about this, but I bought it anyways and surprisingly  enough it does smell really nice, not exactly mangoes but more like Fruit Stripe gum, its pretty cool. The downside however is that I look crazy sniffing my fingertips all the time. LOL I don't even realize I am  doing it half the time until I get the "WTF?" look from a stranger.

The Giants won today although it was a pretty intense game when the A's tied the game up and then pulled ahead. We managed the win however 5-4. It was great to have the Giants Sweep the series since I didn't want to hear anything from my A's Fans friends.

Looking forward to the Giants games we have in June. Although I am a huge Tim Lincecum Fan I have never had the pleasure of seeing him pitch while I was at an actual game. Tom and I are in a season ticket holder group and I'm hoping one of the game we got will be a Happy Timmy Pitching day :)

Peace!!

5/21

Yesterday night got to watch Pirates of the Caribbean on Strangers Tides with my Mom, Ashley and Tom. I actually enjoyed this Pirates (part 4) better than Part two and three. Which were a little to long and very complicated. This one was fun and had a good plot with nice pacing. The action didn't get lost in the convoluted plot points and character personality overhauls like in Dead Man Chest and At Worlds End. The Mermaids were pretty bad ass in the movie. However I think it was unintentionally on the preachy/religious side for "fun summer" action film, and I missed some of the old characters from the first three movies.
Today I got to sleep in late and went to breakfast with Tom and Ashley we enjoyed our breakfast and almost won a giant Clifford from the claw machine game, after breakfast we watched bootlegs we got at the Oakland swap meet and while some of them were of sketchy quality (not complaining, you get what you paid for) others were awesome.

After bugging my Dad relentlessly for the past week or so I finally convinced him to make me some ponthay. It was fun watching the Giants beat the A's as Tim Lincecum pitched a shutout game. I have been saying that he was due to pitch a whole game and he did it today they beat the A's 3-0. Not to mention Ponthay on top of that which was awesome. It was nice to see my Dad it was the first time in about a month.

So far a pretty good weekend, I'm hoping Jonathan Sánchez pitches well tomorrow so we can sweep the series.

PEACE!

Howls Moving Castle

One of my favorite books to read when I was in high school was Howls' Moving Castle by Dianna Wynne Jones. I was really happy to hear they were making a movie loosely based on the book, and while the movie is pretty interesting and animated spectacularly by Hayao Miyazaki, and Studio Ghibli the best part of the film was the beautiful and pulchritudinous music that serverd as the main theme of the movie.
on youtube I came across this amazing version of the song:

Love it.

Tallest Man Or Earth

I know it sounds silly but I think I can listen to the Tallest man on earth for the rest of my life and never get sick of it because everything he sings is so amazing, he is very talented. I saw him in concert and he came on by himself with about nine different guitars. And although it was just him and his guitars he was absolutly amazing. everyone of his songs is a great as the other which I dont think you find now with a lot of popular singers they have one good/catchy/pretty song and then an album of decent to very poor tracks. Thats not so with the tallest man on earth every song he sings is a song you want to hear over and over.

a few of my favorites:

AMAY-ZING!

5/17

One of my favorite rainy day songs, I think the song and the music is really pretty.

This is John Frusciante, Brilliant Musician slash crazy person.

Moday 5/16

Every once in a while I will be bitten by a bug (lets call him Caterpie) and for a week or two I will be absolutly and completely obsessed with my Pokemon, and its happening now. I was given Pokemon Black for my anniversary by Tom and I started to play and I have to  admit I can't stop.
Pokemon Black is AWESOME, the graphics, mysteries, battles and gyms are better than any other version that has come out.

I know I sound like a total nerd and yeah I probably am but I can't help it!

Today was a good day! Spent most of it with Tommy, we got to sleep in late and after the exhausting day we had before today it was much appreciated.

There is a great place in Walnut Creek on Locust St. called Crepes Oh La La (silly I know) but they have the best Crepes and they are inexpensive as well, Tom and I went today. I got my favorite Crepe Feta cheese, Spinache and Egg (SOOO GOOOD!!)

After Crepes we went to Barnes and Nobles and read books we couldn't afford in the Cafe while drinking Ice tea. It was relaxing and fun. After seeing all the books we could not afford at Barnes and Nobles, we decided to head to half price books a bookstore more in our price range.

I got a couple of books and am excited to have new stuff to read!!! What was even better was that it started to rain!

The only black mark on the day was that the Giants lost 7 to 4 it  was a torturous game. However I am hopeful as always that they will take it back tomorrow. Timmy was off  but he is still awesome. And I think his hair looked pretty nice.

PEACE!!!
